NaSIA Participates In The Formal Constitution Of The National Teaching Council (NTC) Board

The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA) participated in the formal constitution of the National Teaching Council (NTC) board, a step in advancing Ghana’s education sector under the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (Act 1023).
NaSIA is honored to be represented on this council by Prof. Azeko, Salifu Tahiru, the Inspector General of Schools.
In a brief ceremony, that took place at the Ministry’s conference room, the Minister for Education, Hon Haruna Iddrisu urged the new council to set professional standards, license teachers, oversee continuous professional development, improve cooperation among stakeholders and address teacher indiscipline.
“The new teacher licensure model includes practical evaluations and mentorship programs” he added.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to teacher welfare, emphasizing a scheme to provide decent housing for teachers, especially in rural areas.
Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Alorvi (Council chair), speaking on behalf of the council thank the Minister and reassure him of their commitment to work diligently to fulfill its mandate.
