About Whole School Inspection
Whole School Inspection is a thorough evaluation of a school, providing a comprehensive assessment of its overall performance. This inspection employs both Part A and Part B of the IEF. Part A focuses on school performance, employing a multifaceted approach to assess the achievements in areas such as lesson observation, school leadership, and external assessment results. Concurrently, Part B, known as Compliance Inspection, focuses on the school's adherence to fundamental Ministry of Education criteria, looking at the key factors within curriculum and planning, school management, and resources. The combination of these components in a Whole School Inspection provides a distinct understanding of the school's strengths, challenges, and overall performance in meeting educational standards at the pre-tertiary level.

About Compliance Inspection
Compliance Inspection exclusively employs Part B of the IEF, outlining the assessments that Inspectors will conduct regarding a school's adherence to essential Ministry of Education criteria. The evaluation's scope encompasses eight (8) compliance-related factors, distributed across three (3) primary elements: curriculum and planning, school management, and resources.

About Performance Inspection
Only Part A of the IEF is utilized in school performance inspections to assess a school's performance. It concentrates on three sub-elements: lesson observation, school leadership, and external assessment results. The School Leadership sub-element comprises six indications. Within the Lesson Observation sub-element, there are seven indicators and twenty sub-indicators assessing quality in learner outcomes and teaching. The External Assessment Results (EAR) sub-element encompasses three indicators: the English Language, Mathematics, and Science scores from the previous three years' Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) of pre-tertiary schools.
